How hormone therapy helps you feel like yourself again

When your hormones run low, everything feels harder — your energy, your sleep, your focus, even your mood. Here’s who hormone therapy helps, how it actually works, and how to find out if it’s your missing piece.

Who it’s for

Men and women who just don’t feel like themselves — low energy, brain fog, stubborn weight, restless sleep, low sex drive, a flat mood. As we get older our natural hormone levels slip, and that’s often the hidden reason behind all of it.

How it works

Hormones are your body’s messengers — they tell it when to have energy, sleep deeply, build muscle and feel good. When levels run low, those messages get fuzzy. Hormone therapy uses bio-identical hormones, matched to the ones your body already makes, to bring your levels back up — and your exact dose is set by your own lab results, not guesswork.

Your first step

Start with our free 2-minute Hormone Symptom Quiz, then a free 15-minute wellness phone consult. If it’s a good fit, we run full hormone labs and build a plan made just for you — nothing one-size-fits-all.

Step 1 · Free 2-minute quiz

Hormone Symptom Quiz — find out where you stand

Answer a few simple questions about energy, sleep, mood, libido, weight, and recovery. Get an instant personalized snapshot of which hormones may be driving your symptoms — before you ever pick up the phone.

Step 2 · Watch & learn — hormone education videos

Two short videos that explain the symptoms of hormone imbalance and the real benefits patients feel once their hormones are properly optimized. Watch in any order — no pressure, no pitch.

Symptoms of Hormone Imbalance

The everyday signs most people miss — fatigue, weight gain, low libido, brain fog, mood swings, poor sleep — and what they actually mean.

Benefits of Hormone Optimization

What it actually feels like when your hormones are dialed in — energy, sleep, body composition, mental clarity, libido, recovery, and long-term healthspan.

Common signs your hormones are off

If three or more of these sound like you, the quiz above will give you a clearer picture — and a free wellness consult will give you the next step.

Persistent fatigue & low energy
Stubborn belly weight that won’t budge
Brain fog & trouble focusing
Low libido or sexual performance
Trouble falling or staying asleep
Hot flashes or night sweats
Mood swings, anxiety, irritability
Hair thinning or skin changes
Loss of muscle & strength
Joint stiffness & slow recovery
Low motivation, drive, or confidence
Irregular or painful cycles

Step 3 · Talk to our wellness team

Once you’ve taken the quiz and watched the videos, the next step is a free 15-minute wellness phone consult. We listen, review your symptoms, and build a personalized plan — labs first, then a treatment path that fits you.

Frequently asked questions about HRT

Is HRT safe?

For the right patient, modern bio-identical hormone therapy is well-tolerated and supported by decades of research. Safety always starts with comprehensive labs, an honest medical history, and a personalized dose — never one-size-fits-all. We monitor your bloodwork regularly to keep things in the optimal range.

Bio-identical hormones — what does that actually mean?

Bio-identical hormones are plant-derived molecules that are structurally identical to the hormones your body already makes (estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA). Because the molecule is the same, your receptors recognize it the way they recognize what your ovaries or testes used to produce.

How are hormone pellets different from creams or injections?

Pellets are tiny rice-sized inserts placed just under the skin during a quick in-office procedure. They release a steady, low dose of hormone for 3–6 months — no daily creams to remember, no weekly injections, and no big peaks and valleys. Many patients prefer pellets simply because they’re “set it and forget it.”

Will HRT help me lose weight?

Hormone imbalance is one of the biggest hidden drivers of stubborn weight — especially belly fat in your 30s, 40s, 50s and beyond. Many patients see weight start to move once their hormones are dialed in, especially when paired with our medical weight loss program (GLP-1 medications + nutrition coaching).

What does the first appointment look like?

Step 1 is a free 15-minute wellness phone consult so we can hear your story and decide if HRT is the right fit. If we move forward, you’ll do comprehensive labs, then come in to review the results, your goals, and your personalized plan. No mystery, no upsells.

Do you treat both men and women?

Yes. We treat low testosterone (low-T) and TRT for men, and the full range of perimenopause / menopause / post-menopause symptoms for women. Many couples come in together — energy, sleep, libido, mood, and weight all start to shift around the same age.

What does HRT cost? Do you take insurance?

HRT is largely cash-pay because most insurance plans don’t cover hormone optimization the way they should. We accept HSA, FSA, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medicare, Medicaid (rules apply for some services). For specific insurance questions, text the main office at 843-225-2550. We provide superbills if you want to file with your carrier.

How long until I feel a difference?

Most patients feel meaningful changes in energy, sleep, and mood within the first 2–6 weeks. Body composition, libido, and recovery often follow over the next 2–3 months as your levels stabilize. We track your progress with both how you feel and follow-up labs.

Why CPRC for Hormone Therapy

Three reasons our patients drive in from across the Lowcountry for HRT: a real provider who reads your labs and adjusts week-to-week, bioidentical formulations chosen for your numbers (not a default protocol), and a full toolkit — hormones, thyroid, gut, mitochondria — that treats the root cause. So you actually feel like yourself again.

The Hormone Toolkit

One clinic, one named provider, multiple delivery options. Most patients use one primary route plus one or two support therapies. The free consult maps you to the right starting point.

Bioidentical Pellets

Hands-off delivery, 3–5 months per insertion. Estrogen and/or testosterone, dosed to your labs.

Compounded Creams

Daily transdermal estrogen, testosterone, or progesterone. Easy to titrate, no needles.

Testosterone Injections

Weekly intramuscular or subcutaneous injection. Powerful, fast-titrating option for men.

Thyroid Support

Full T3/T4 panels, reverse T3, antibodies — then targeted thyroid replacement when needed.

Peptide Therapy

Targeted peptides for sleep, recovery, body composition, and immune function alongside HRT.

Lab-Based Monitoring

Baseline panel, then 3–6 month re-checks. Cardiac, liver, and cancer markers screened every time.

Stack These with HRT

Most patients pair hormone therapy with one or two of these for faster, better-feeling results.

Composition

Medical Weight Loss

Hormones drive body composition. Stack HRT with our weight loss program.

Mitochondria

Red Light Therapy

Cellular energy boost — especially helpful during the estrogen or testosterone ramp.

Hydration

IV Therapy

Energy, immune, and recovery IVs to keep you feeling good during hormone titration.

Bone+Strength

Power Plate

Whole-body vibration for bone density and strength — perfect during peri-menopause.

Flush

Lymphatic Massage

Reduces puffiness, helps your body process estrogen efficiently.

Hormone Therapy FAQs — Honest Answers, No Hype

What is bioidentical hormone therapy (BHRT), and why does it matter?

Bioidentical hormones are structurally identical to the ones your body makes — different from older synthetic horse-derived hormones. The molecular match is what makes BHRT both safer in the long run and more effective at restoring how you actually feel.

Pellets, creams, or injections — how do I know which is right for me?

It depends on your labs, your goals, and your schedule. Pellets are hands-off (3–5 months per insertion) and great for busy patients. Creams are daily and easy to titrate. Injections are weekly and powerful for testosterone optimization. Kayla Blann picks based on your numbers on day one.

How long until I feel different on HRT?

Most patients notice sleep, mood, and energy shifts in 2–4 weeks. Body composition, libido, and brain fog typically improve over 8–12 weeks. We re-test labs at 3 months to fine-tune your dose.

What are the signs I need HRT?

Common patterns: persistent fatigue, weight gain that will not move despite diet, brain fog, mood swings, low libido, hot flashes or night sweats, sleep disruption, joint aches. If three or more have been going on for over 3 months, a hormone panel is worth running.

Is bioidentical HRT safe? What do you monitor?

Safety comes from supervision. We screen baseline cardiac, liver, lipid, and cancer markers before starting. We re-check every 3–6 months and adjust based on results. Risk goes up when HRT is unsupervised — not when it is monitored.

Will HRT cause weight gain or weight loss?

Properly dosed HRT typically improves body composition — more lean muscle, less stubborn belly fat. Most patients lose fat and gain energy. If hormones were driving your weight, fixing the labs often fixes the scale.

Will insurance cover hormone therapy?

Insurance often covers labs and base estrogen / testosterone. Compounded bioidentical formulations and pellets are typically self-pay but HSA/FSA-eligible. We run a full insurance check and give you a clear, honest quote before you commit to anything.

Is the approach different for men and women?

Yes. Men typically focus on testosterone optimization, thyroid, and lifestyle. Women in perimenopause or menopause need estrogen, progesterone, often testosterone, thyroid, and gut support. We design a protocol for the actual person in front of us — not a one-size script.

Perimenopause vs menopause — when should I start HRT?

You do not have to wait. Perimenopause can start in your mid-30s and last a decade. If symptoms are affecting your sleep, mood, weight, or focus, a hormone panel makes sense — regardless of whether your cycles have stopped. Earlier intervention often means easier transitions.
